CALL FOR PROPOSALS/ABSTRACTS for

The Ontario Public Health Convention:

Exchanging evidence, ideas and technology

Toronto, Ontario April 5th – 8th, 2011

The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) is being hosted by the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA), the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) and Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (OAHPP).

The conference aims to advance public health in Ontario by increasing the level of both knowledge and skills in the workforce. It is envisioned that the Conference will include an exciting mix of both research presentations to share new knowledge and educational workshops that build and refine practical skills.

The deadline for submission of a research abstract or workshop proposal
for The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) is
5 p.m. on December 15th, 2010.

TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT: to submit an abstract, you need to login first (upper left corner) and then follow the instructions. For first time submissions, you will have to create your own login and password.

Guidelines for Proposals/Abstract Submission:

All proposals/abstracts will be peer-reviewed and reviewers will judge the submissions based on pre-set criteria. These criteria include:

1. No more than 250 words. Submissions longer than 250 words may be rejected.
2. Alignment of the proposal/abstract to the Conference themes.
3. Incomplete submissions will be disqualified.
4. Only electronic submissions will be accepted – no calls, emails or faxes.

Note that your abstract is an advertisement of what others expect to hear from you at the Conference. Aim to capture their attention and introduce your project or work competently.

Outstanding presentations will ensure the success of the Conference. We anticipate the number of submissions to this call to be high and available spaces are limited. So send us your most interesting work – we are looking forward to hearing from you!
